ABOUT LIBRARY

The College Library is located in the main block (Block A) of the campus in first floor. It necessarily functions with a main objective of serving the students, faculty members and other staff of the college by collecting, organizing and disseminating quality information to meet their educational, professional and recreational needs. The Library is fully computerized and its collection is fully bar-coded.

The Library maintains a balanced collection of books, which includes various disciplines. It also boasts of several valuable reference books, Research Project Reports and Journals. Library provides a whole lot of International and National journals for reference purpose, which are annually renewed on regular basis. Access to a number of e-journals and e-books is available through its institutional membership in DELNET and National Digital Library. Newspapers and journals are displayed prominently at the Library along with new arrivals.

The Library is spacious enough to accommodate enough students at a time and it has adequate computers for student’s internet access and also provides reprographic facility. It follows the open access system and the books are properly arranged as per respective subjects and all are classified under Dewey Decimal Classification System.

Library is open from 9 AM to 4:30 PM on all working days.

Library Rules and Regulations

1. The Library timings will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days.
2. All the students and faculty members are members of the Library.
3. The students should carry their respective ID cards and Entrance cards with them for getting the Library books issued/ returned or renewed.
4. Silence should be maintained inside the Library hall.
5. Faculty members can borrow a maximum of 8 books at a time, which should be renewed at an interval of every two months. PG students can borrow 3 books at a time, while UG students can get 2 books at a time.
6. Students shall not keep a book for more than a week. They can renew a book three times and return before its due date. A fine of Re.1 /per day will be levied after the due date.
7. Library borrower cards are not transferrable and students are not allowed to sub-lend the Library books.
8. No personal belongings are allowed inside the library. Adequate storage space has been provided at the entrance of the Library.
9. All members should scan their Library ID cards, before entering the library.
10. Library does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings kept inside the Library hall.
11. Refreshments of any kind shall not be taken inside the Library.
12. On losing / damaging a book, the members are liable to pay the current rate of the book or replace it with a new one.


Library Services

1. Reference Service
Library has a rich collection of reference books on different branches and subjects.

2. Internet facility
Fifteen computers are provided for Internet services inside the Library.

3. Reprographic facility
Two Photostat machines are always at the library members’ service.

4. Reading Room facility
MT 70 persons can use the reading room facility at a time. Facilities are also provided for reference of Reference books and Journals.

5. E-resources facility
Library provide access to E-books and E-journals.

6. Digital Library facility
Members can avail the services of DELNET and National Digital Library for their queries on E-books and E-Journals.

7. Book-Bank facility
The College Library has a book bank, which collects old textbooks from outgoing students and also from faculty who wish to donate their old textbooks. These books are issued to students from poor economic background, which helps them to prepare for their University examinations.

8. Resource facility
Members can go through the wide collections of previous year question papers, Newspaper clippings etc. stocked in the library for their exam preparations.

Presently we have enough collection of books which includes general section and reference.

Journals /Periodicals

Journals and Periodicals are arranged neatly subject wise in separate display racks.

Bound volumes of Journals

Important and widely-referred journals are bound for future demand.

Newspapers

The library receives multiple Newspapers in Malayalam and English.

Special Collections

Different editions and volumes of Pharmacopoeias of India and other Countries along with various Encyclopedias.
